About Lorem Ipsum
Lorem Ipsum is the placeholder text designers pour into a layout while the real copy does not exist yet. It has no coherent translation: the passage is a deliberately scrambled fragment of Cicero's «On the Ends of Good and Evil», written in 45 BC. The word «lorem» is what remains of the Latin dolorem, meaning pain.
Latin filler is the wrong test for a Russian layout: Cyrillic glyphs are wider and its words longer on average, so a design that looks tidy on Lorem Ipsum can break on real Russian text. That is why this generator offers Cyrillic filler, an exact character mode for platform limits, and article structure — headings, lists and quotes, where layouts break more often than on flat text.

The classic Lorem Ipsum is a scrambled excerpt from Cicero's 'De finibus bonorum et malorum' (45 BC). The word 'lorem' is a truncation of the Latin dolorem ('pain'). The meaning is intentionally lost — only the texture matters, so the reader doesn't get distracted by content.

Switch the language to Cyrillic and the filler comes out in Russian letters. That matters more than it sounds: Cyrillic runs longer than Latin and its letters are wider, so a layout that looks tidy on Latin filler can break on real Russian text. A third option, «fish», gives connected pseudo-prose instead of scattered words.
